Are you an expert in information security seeking to contribute to a vital sector? ECS Resource Group is on the lookout for a dedicated Information Security Specialist to enhance our cybersecurity framework. In this role, you will be instrumental in protecting our digital infrastructure and ensuring operational integrity. Your responsibilities will include the design and execution of comprehensive security protocols, identifying and addressing cyber threats, and ensuring adherence to relevant compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical initiatives for enhancing cybersecurity measures across all operational sites.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in security technologies and practices.
- Investigate and assess emerging cybersecurity threats and develop strategies to counteract them.
- Ensure compliance with national and international regulations, including data protection laws and internal policies.
- Oversee technical remediation efforts as part of the global cybersecurity strategy.
- Educate users on local security policies and ensure their effective implementation.
- Assist in the planning and testing of disaster recovery protocols related to cybersecurity incidents.
- Monitor for unauthorized access, intrusions, and other suspicious activities.
- Regularly evaluate and test security solutions deployed within the organization.
- Design and upgrade security systems to meet evolving threats.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive documentation related to cybersecurity practices.
- Collaborate with the Information Security Officer to identify vulnerabilities and implement protective measures.
- Maintain a risk register and support internal and external audits concerning information security.
- Prepare for and manage security audits, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
- Coordinate annual penetration testing with external partners.
- Work closely with the IT Infrastructure team to ensure secure system design and implementation.
- Collaborate with team members on technical solutions and improvements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a technical cybersecurity role.
- Familiarity with ISO27001 or NIST frameworks.
- Strong passion for cybersecurity and a solid interest in IT.
- Comprehensive IT knowledge, including expertise in networks, operating systems, and security technologies.
- Understanding of cybersecurity risks associated with various technologies and effective management strategies.
- Experience with security tools such as Palo Alto, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Rapid 7, Tenable, and Illiumo is a plus.
- Analytical skills to identify and evaluate risks and threats.
- Ability to work collaboratively with team members and management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure during critical situations.
- Flexibility to respond to cybersecurity incidents as needed.
