Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Support

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate ASD Teaching Assistant to support a year 7 child with behavioural challenges. As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the student with behavioural challenges, using positive reinforcement strategies and de-escalation methods.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Establish rapport and build positive relationships with the student, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student's needs are met.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
  • Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
