Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting employees and those affected by our work by controlling risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating hazards and improving safety.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures and best practices.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and review health, safety, and environmental performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to stay informed on emerging trends and best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans to ensure business continuity in the event of an incident.
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate minimum, diploma preferred.
- IEMA or other suitable environmental qualification desirable.
- ISO 45001, 14001 or similar auditing qualification desirable.
- 3 years of experience in a similar manufacturing industry.
- Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation with practical application in an operational setting.
- Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to organize and plan workload.
