About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit Manager to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our audit team, you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering audit strategies for our clients, providing assurance to stakeholders that internal controls, risk management, governance, and counter-fraud work are sound, effective, and bring best value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and review complex audit cases, driving forward new projects such as implementing new Global IIA standards, ensuring successful external quality assessments, and moving forward our agile working and data analytics approach.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building relationships across the organization and helping to find better ways of working.
  • Represent the Chief Internal Auditor at Committees and implement organizational change, managing an agile Audit team, finding smarter, new ways of working, to deliver a first-class, value-added audit service.
Requirements
  • Experience and qualification in Internal Audit, with a number of years' experience working in a Local Government or similar setting.
  • Personal qualities and influencing skills to make things happen, with sound technical know-how, business knowledge, and excellent people and leadership skills.
  • Innovative, coming up with and implementing new ideas, and drive to put those ideas into practice and make things happen.

  • A competitive salary, ranging from £53,802 to £59,196 per annum (dependent on experience).
