Job Opportunity: Assistant Tax Advisor

Hutcheon Mearns is pleased to be exclusively recruiting for an Assistant Tax Advisor to join our client's team in Aberdeen City Centre. This is a full-time, staff position that would suit an Accounting and/or Finance Graduate looking to pursue a career in Tax.

About the Role

The Assistant Tax Advisor will be a training role with exposure to all areas of the tax function. Your studies will go hand-in-hand with on-the-job training, and your duties will include:

  • Assisting with implementing the Group's taxation strategy
  • Assisting with monitoring and managing the UK's effective tax rate
  • Assisting with monitoring UK tax affairs
  • Helping to maintain relationships with auditors and professional advisors
  • Providing support to Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Business in relation to material tax matters
  • Helping to maintain relationships with UK tax authorities as appropriate
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a similar relevant subject. Placement or internship experience would be desirable but is not essential. You will be keen to learn and develop within your career, have excellent attention to detail, and be able to use initiative.
