Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess daily menus and logs to identify the necessary quantities of ingredients including meats, vegetables, salads, soups, and desserts.
  • Prepare meals in accordance with established recipes and dietary requirements, ensuring adherence to portion control standards.
  • Implement safe food handling practices at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow kitchen staff to maintain a seamless and safe kitchen environment.
  • Present meals in an appealing manner and serve them promptly.
  • Supervise the preparation and organization of serving carts.
  • Ensure proper procedures for food storage, including covering, labeling, dating, and timely storage.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all meal preparation and service areas, including pots, pans, kitchen surfaces, and floors, following the designated cleaning schedule.
  • Focus on enhancing customer satisfaction and address any food-related concerns as they arise.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and colleagues.

To excel in this role, a background in culinary arts is essential, ideally within a hospitality setting, along with a relevant catering qualification and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
