Background Painter

We are seeking a skilled Background Painter to join our team at Blue Zoo Production. As a Background Painter, you will be responsible for creating high-quality background art and assets for our animated shows.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the Lead Painter to ensure background files are HD and meet the required standards.
- Set up Photoshop files directly from Layout and complete a comprehensive paint "blocking" for each assigned shot.
- Implement feedback and fixes given by the Lead Painter and ensure consistency of design.
- Work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively with the scene build team.
- Organize workflow using work trackers and maintain clean, manageable Photoshop files.
- In-depth technical knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with background painting and a comprehensive understanding of the stages required to take a background painting from start to finish.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with team members.
- Strong understanding of painting with colour and light.
- Ability to work fast and efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Previous experience working on a 2D animated show.
- Experience with composition and staging.
- Experience using Shotgrid.
