Job Title: Tech and Data Lawyer - Financial Services Regulatory

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Tech and Data Lawyer to join our team at Jameson Legal for a 6-month assignment with a leading global financial services firm in Scotland. The successful candidate will have a strong background in advising on technology, data, and intellectual property matters across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the business on technology, data, and intellectual property matters across EMEA
  • Be a trusted advisor for the technology department, advising on a wide range of technology laws and requirements, including sourcing/outsourcing/offshoring, cloud, artificial intelligence, IP, operational resiliency, and emerging technologies
  • Review, draft, and negotiate technology, market data, professional services, and general services agreements, including tech outsourcing, hardware and software purchases, SaaS transactions, design and construction agreements
  • Advise on legal and regulatory changes across tech, data, and outsourcing matters

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualified experience, ideally gained at a large financial institution, technology company, or notable law firm
  • Strong knowledge and experience in advising on a breadth of technology, data, IP, and commercial contracts

What We Offer:

The successful Tech and Data lawyer can expect to work with a highly respected global financial services firm in Scotland for an initial assignment of 6 months. The assignment will be undertaken on a hybrid basis, with successful individuals required to spend 3 days per week in the Glasgow office.
