Senior Perfusionist

• Set up, prime, and run cardiopulmonary bypass equipment for cardiac surgery procedures, adhering to perfusion procedures and protocols.
• Facilitate the provision of a transport ECMO service, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and staff training.
• Assist in formulating policies for the smooth operation of the Clinical Perfusion Department and make recommendations for improvement and development.
• Ensure the continued maintenance and servicing of clinical equipment pertinent to cardiac surgery.
• Participate in the provision of training for perfusion students and other staff groups.
• Take part in an on-call rota for emergency service provision.
• Contribute to the ongoing research programme in the Perfusion Department.
• Provide clinical and scientific advice, and interpretation of results to clinicians throughout the Trust and to external agencies.

• BSc in Perfusion Science, PgDip in Perfusion Science, or MSc in Perfusion Science.
• LCCP or primary perfusion qualification plus evidence of 75 unsupervised clinical cases.
• Paediatric experience, although training will be provided.
• Good knowledge of Cardiac and Perfusion Techniques.
