Reporting into the Lead EDS Engineer, you will work as part of a highly focussed and passionate team, leading the delivery of electrical and electronic engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and deploy new electrical and electronic systems into the Excavator product range.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Translate customer requirements into clear and concise design deliverables.
  2. Select the correct hardware platform to deliver the technical solution, considering environmental and cost targets.
  3. Develop prototype solutions to validate proof of concept ideas in a fast-paced agile environment.
  4. Create a drawing release plan to satisfy project timing and requirements.
  5. Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to release new components.
  6. Read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams and electrical wiring diagrams.
  7. Work in line with industry-standard development techniques, including clipping and harness bend radius.
  8. Coordinate parts to support builds, ensuring the latest design revisions are appraised at the earliest opportunity.
  9. Maintain sound record-keeping techniques for all designs, revisions, and updates.
  10. Drive re-use of components and approaches.
  11. Support cause and effect analysis, risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, and Ishikawa/fishbone.
About You

We are looking for a qualified Electrical CAD Engineer with a strong background in electronic/software-based technology disciplines or equivalent experience. You should have experience within Tier 1 or OE sectors, with CAD, and be familiar with ECN release and checking. Experience with Siemens Teamcentre and various electronic lab tools is also desirable.

You should be comfortable working with serial tools, Bluetooth, and over-the-air diagnostics, and have a good understanding of design verification processes (DVPSOR). Additionally, you should be able to read and digest complex information relating to internal and external procedures and sign-off requirements.
