About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Manufacturing Engineer to join our Snap Lab team in Oxfordshire. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing new tools and processes that will enable next-generation nanophotonics and related systems for our world-leading augmented reality displays.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop novel means of manufacturing augmented reality waveguides.
  2. Contribute to the development of new and existing automation and measurement processes.
  3. Collaborate with internal and external teams across various disciplines and global locations.
  4. Work with equipment vendors and suppliers to identify and source new components and systems.
  5. Assist in the transfer and dissemination of process knowledge within the company.
Requirements
  1. Demonstrable record of hands-on technical development with good attention to detail and a can-do attitude.
  2. Ability to communicate effectively across disciplines and team structures.
  3. Ability to work independently or closely with colleagues as required.
  4. Demonstrable programming skills, especially for system integration.
  5. Experience of CAD (SolidWorks, NX).
  6. Strong problem-solving ability and curiosity.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Demonstrable practical experience of building and validating new proof-of-concept processes.
  2. Knowledge of optics and practical experience of applied optics.
  3. Experience of industrial or machine vision system design and development.
  4. Experience of mechanical design, optical design, robotics, process automation.
  5. Experience of a variety of industrial processes including adhesive dispensing and surface treatment.
  6. Knowledge of inspection and metrology to GD&T and quality management systems.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range £74,000 - £93,000 (annual salary) which is commensurate with your qualifications and experience and the level of this role. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs. Our compensation philosophy is designed to attract and retain top talent in the industry.
