A quality led small family owned House builder is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Lichfield office for house building schemes.
The Role:Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial performance of live house building projects.
Working in a commercial team, the Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:
- Project cost control - site budgets, value engineering, monitoring actual costs, monthly valuations, progress and stock on site.
- Implementing value engineering solutions and strategies to optimise profit and efficiency for the business.
- Attending project team meetings, sharing site budgets and cost variances.
- Managing sub-contractor enquiries, analysis and orders, including Roads, sewers & groundworks.
- Preparing labour only estimates and sub-contractor valuations - progress, site measurements, variations, retentions, contra charges and final accounts.
- Managing customer variations - site specific pricing, one off quotations, sub-contractor orders and monitoring costs.
- Reporting on weekly sales completions.
A quality regional housebuilder who builds between 40 plots per year and has a variety of house types.
They do things a little differently from the major house builders as they often build more bespoke units, with bespoke specifications.
The Person:We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor who has:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, QS or Surveyor in a similar house building environment.
- The ability to form strong working relationships.
- Effective organisation and team working skills.
- Good planning and time management skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent negotiating skills.
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with:
- Experience in the house building sector.
- Experience within the house building industry.
- HND or Degree qualified.
