Job Title: Principal/Lead Electronics Engineer

Leonardo is a world-class defence technology company based in Edinburgh, Scotland. We are seeking a highly skilled Principal/Lead Electronics Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned electronics engineer to lead the design and development of cutting-edge power systems for our Eurofighter Typhoon and Maritime surveillance systems. As a Principal/Lead Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for laying the groundwork for future power systems, analysing PSU topology, and exploring new technologies in energy storage and conservation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power systems for our defence technology products
  • Lead the analysis of PSU topology and associated new technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide technical and managerial support to the Engineering, Project, and PSU CDT Management Teams
  • Support the development of documentation, including Outsource Procurement Specifications, Statement of Work, and Circuit & System Simulations
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of HND in Engineering or Systems, with a strong background in electronics design and development. You should possess knowledge in ACDC and DCDC switched mode power supply design, control and interface circuitry, and experience with simulation software such as Simetrix, LT Spice, and Matlab.

You should also be familiar with Microsoft Office and Visio, and have experience with MS Project and Work Package Management.
