Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Panel Design Engineer to join our Design Department at MacTaggart Scott. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing electrical control panels and systems that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Development
    • Design control panels using relay logic, PLCs, variable frequency drives, and HMI/SCADA systems.
    • Produce detailed drawings, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
  • Manufacturing and Testing
    • Generate concept designs for manufacture and test in-house.
    • Oversee the in-house manufacture and testing of control panels.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Business Support
    • Support the wider business in bids, manufacture, and test, as well as post-design services.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Hold a degree in Control/Electrical Engineering or a relevant apprenticeship with a Higher National Certificate (HNC).
    • Have previous experience in control panel design and development.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office products.
    • Familiarity with related standards, including BS, EN, and 18th Edition.
