Chemistry Educator, Castlebay Secondary School
35 hours per week, fixed term 1 year
£41, - £51, per annum, inclusive of £2, Distant Island Allowance per annum

The primary objective of this role is to enhance the overall effectiveness of the educational institution in the following key areas:

(a) Curriculum Development
(b) Student Care and Welfare
(c) Collaborative Practices
(d) Professional Growth.

In accordance with the policies set forth by the educational institution and the governing education authority, the responsibilities of educators include performing tasks as directed by the headteacher, while maintaining a reasonable balance concerning overall teacher workload related to the following categories:
1 Instructing assigned classes along with necessary preparation and assessment.
2 Innovating the school curriculum.
3 Evaluating, documenting, and reporting on student progress.
4 Preparing students for assessments and aiding in the management of examinations.
5 Offering guidance and support to students regarding their educational journey.
6 Advocating for and ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of students.
7 Collaborating with parents, support staff, and other professionals.
8 Engaging in relevant and agreed-upon continuous professional development.
9 Involvement in matters related to school planning, enhancing achievement, and individual evaluations.
10 Contributing to maintaining order and addressing the broader needs of the educational institution.

The ideal candidate must possess a relevant degree/diploma and hold GTC Scotland Registration.
