Job Title: English Language Moderator

At Pearson, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Language Moderator to join our team. As a Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our assessment delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and understand all relevant policies and guidelines prior to undertaking contracted activities.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as required by Pearson.
  • Remain respectful and advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in a professional manner.
  • Have personal IT equipment capable of running Pearson software and a suitable internet connection.
  • Exemplify marking criteria using candidates' live work before pre-standardisation meetings.
  • Moderate live candidates' responses to quality assure as part of a supervisory role.
  • Monitor the progress of supervisors and moderators.
  • Act as a senior point of escalation across the quality assurance process.
  • Submit completed feedback forms for each supervisor and moderator as directed.
  • Support awarding activities by writing reports to the Awarding Committee and participating in awarding activities.
  • Submit reports on series and candidate performance.
  • Provide support and written responses to complaints as required.
Requirements:
  • Experience and knowledge of quality assurance and assessment practice.
  • Provide examples of leading or supporting essential quality assurance activities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and requirements.
  • Report writing within a regulated industry.
