Senior Building Surveyor Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our team at Access Talent Group. As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering multi-disciplinary projects from concept to construction, working on our expanding portfolio of challenging projects across various market sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of projects to agreed targets, including programme, budget, and quality.
  • Project Strategy: Identify and agree project objectives with the Project Director and develop a strategy for achieving these.
  • Risk Management: Identify, escalate, and manage any matters that could pose a potential contractual or commercial risk to the Project Director.
  • Commercial Management: Utilize commercial manager support to obtain a clear understanding of contractual obligations and negotiate amendments.
  • Team Management: Set objectives, define tasks for the project team, delegate authority, and agree how risks will be shared as necessary.
  • Project Monitoring: Actively manage the project, both technically and financially, in accordance with corporate and business policies, directives, guidance, and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the project team, building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team, including providing regular feedback to all team members.
  • Project Closure: Close out the project on completion, archive project documentation, update market information, ensure that lessons learned are captured and disseminated internally, and initiate a Client Satisfaction survey.

Requirements:

  • Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or equivalent with demonstrable experience managing design commissions on large building/infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team and demonstrate good leadership qualities.
  • Experience in deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 and JCT.
  • Skilled in preparing Scope Definition papers, Project Execution Plans, Risk Registers, Change Control Logs, and Client & Stakeholder Management plans.
  • Familiar with BIM and 3D modelling tools for design and coordination purposes.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
