About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Technical Officer to join our team at Network Rail. As a key member of our Maintenance Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and guidance to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of our electrification and plant maintenance projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide technical support and guidance to the Maintenance Engineering team to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of projects.

2. Manage and check the quality of work delivered to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.

3. Prepare and manage work and resource specifications, method statements, and plans to ensure effective project delivery.

4. Manage information to update systems, databases, and records to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

5. Adhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

Requirements

1. Knowledge and experience of technical support activities and techniques.

2. Knowledge and experience of electrification and plant maintenance and construction management processes, systems, and standards.

3. Ability to demonstrate, promote, and embed safe working behaviors within the team.

4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

5. Ability to coach, influence, and develop others.

6. Hold and retain the competencies relevant to this post and required by business need.

7. Ideally hold or be working towards an NVQ level 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject.

8. Ability and willingness to drive vehicles as required by business need.
