Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager to join our client, an Accountancy Practice located in Wilmslow, on a full-time permanent basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to multi-million-pound businesses, as well as training junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accounts preparation and corporation and business tax computations
  • Managing client relationships and attending client meetings
  • Preparing and understanding budgets for clients
  • Staying up-to-date with accounting and tax changes that impact clients
  • Preparing management accounts and financial models in Excel
  • Training and mentoring junior team members
  • Assisting with remuneration and dividend planning
  • Supporting statutory audits as required
  • Contributing to ad-hoc projects and accountancy work
Senior Accountant / Assistant Manager Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a practice
  • Proven experience in completing year-end accounts
  • AAT, ACA, or ACCA qualification or equivalent experience
  • Experience with accounting software, including Iris, Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks
Senior Accountant Assistant Manager Remuneration

We offer a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum, plus:

  • 22 days annual leave + birthday off + 3 working days between Christmas and New Year + an extra day for every 2 years of service, capped at 30 days
  • Flexible working hours, including 1 day of remote work per week
  • Free parking and relaxed attire on Fridays

  • One day off per year for a charity day
