About the Role

A catastrophic maritime incident occurs, resulting in significant damage to a vessel and its cargo. The shipowner, facing substantial financial losses, appoints an average adjuster to mitigate the losses and facilitate a swift resolution.

As a Trainee Marine Insurance Specialist at Charles Taylor, you will work closely with experienced average adjusters to develop your expertise in marine insurance and the practice of average adjusting. You will be responsible for analyzing complex insurance claims, negotiating with parties involved, and providing expert advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the investigation and analysis of marine insurance claims
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct research and provide expert advice on marine insurance matters
  • Support the preparation of reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in a relevant field, such as marine insurance, law, or a related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
