An exciting opportunity has emerged at our Bradford Bakery for an Engineering Front Line Manager to join our Engineering Team. This role entails overseeing, developing, and leading operational excellence within a team of Shift Engineers, with a focus on enhancements and managing capital projects related to material usage on site.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with PPM and corrective work
- Managing budgetary controls
- Maintaining an optimal ratio of operational to non-operational maintenance
- Monitoring Health & Safety KPIs
- Providing technical support to operational Front Line Managers
- Overseeing contractor work scoping and management
- Generating and implementing improvement initiatives
- Sharing best practices across various sites
- Developing and managing the engineering team
- Ensuring Health & Safety management
- Fostering a culture of autonomous maintenance
- Occasionally engaging in high-tech physical maintenance tasks
- Offering support to reactive teams as needed
- Proposing, submitting, and managing capital projects up to £50k
- Ensuring full compliance with all relevant corporate and legal standards, including personal safety, food safety, quality, hygiene, and environmental regulations
The Ideal Candidate Should:
- Exhibit adaptability and flexibility, demonstrating a readiness to accommodate changes in operational demands at short notice
- Possess experience in Food or FMCG Engineering
- Be capable of working independently
- Have a foundational understanding of basic baking techniques
- Demonstrate leadership and management experience
- Be aware of budget control principles
- Have a solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations
The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet business needs.
