About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Head of Space Management. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our space planning and management efforts, driving strategic decisions that optimize our estate and support our mission to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement medium- to long-term strategic plans for space management, in collaboration with the Head of Real Estate & Space Management and other stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on space use and partner Trust space requirements, maximizing the use of space across our portfolio and the Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland Health economy.
  • Manage and maintain up-to-date space management data, ensuring accurate and timely information for decision-making.
  • Coordinate the decommissioning of space requirements, working closely with teams to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, and data controllers.
Requirements
  • Highly developed specialist knowledge of health service management, change management, and workforce redesign, acquired through training and experience to Masters equivalent level.
  • Membership to a professional organization or equivalent specialist association, such as the British Institute of Facilities Management or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Substantial senior management experience within the NHS Facilities and Estates in both acute and non-acute community care, or similar senior management experience in a substantial public or private sector property portfolio.
  • Experience in managing large complex programs of work, with a minimum of 5 years senior-level management experience.
