Munitions Technician Job Description

About the Role:

The Munitions Technician is a critical member of our team, responsible for receiving, storing, inspecting, testing, transporting, and maintaining Air Force (USAF) Munitions, Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE), and supporting resources. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail to ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and DynCorp ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe handling and storage of munitions and MMHE, adhering to all USAF and host nation safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on MMHE to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Operate computer hardware and software to perform stock control and accounting procedures.
  • Prepare and configure MMHE shipments for air, sea, and surface transportation.
  • Manage the inspection, maintenance, and storage of all assigned support equipment.
  • Monitor individuals for certification and currency.
  • Perform maintenance on light vehicles and handling equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual hoists.
  • Operate metal strapping equipment, stencil machines, heat sealers, pneumatic paint guns, air compressors, and power tools.
  • Plan, order, and ensure the availability and serviceability of MMHE to support customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational/technical training, licenses, or certificates.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a related field of munitions.
  • Ability to build a team, maintain schedules, and frequent certification schedules.
  • Work with others to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Forklift experience may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be authorized to work in the UK.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The Munitions Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to stand for long periods, use hands to handle and feel objects, and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
