Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and grow an effective and efficient home care service within the geographic region.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality care services to vulnerable people living in their own homes.
  • Manage and deploy teams of Care Workers who provide care and support to vulnerable adults.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and approved practice.
  • Meet and exceed all financial and growth targets.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Implement supervision and appraisal policy for all staff.
  • Ensure scheduling is carried out efficiently to enable Care Staff to spend allocated care time with each service user.
  • Ensure Care Staff follow agreed care and service user plans, meeting or exceeding CQC Fundamental Standards.
  • Liaise with office staff to plan marketing activity and make recommendations to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure all care staff undergoes required training to meet CQC Fundamental Standards and completes the Care Certificate prior to probation signoff.
  • Identify development and training needs for staff and source training programs to meet these needs.
  • Ensure accurate records are kept relating to recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Ensure accurate records of sickness, holiday, and other absence are maintained for all staff.
  • Ensure service users undergo suitable initial assessments, including care needs assessment and health and safety risk assessments.
  • Ensure appropriate records of assessments are maintained and actions required mitigating risk are carried out.
  • Be responsible for the Health and Safety of staff and service users, ensuring company Health and Safety policies and procedures are applied.
  • Consult with service users and their informal carers during care planning and throughout service provision.
  • Ensure service user reviews are carried out and recorded in line with CQC Fundamental Standards and Local Authority requirements.
  • Manage complaints, compliments, and comments, including remedial action and record keeping.
  • Ensure requirements of the Data Protection Act are met in full, especially in relation to service user and Care Worker records.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll and invoicing.
  • Collect monies due to be recovered from Care Workers in a timely manner.
  • Build and maintain harmonious working relationships with Local Authority representatives.
  • Attend and participate in Local Authority meetings as appropriate.
  • Manage the budget for the office and operate as a profit centre.
  • Be aware of Key Performance Indicators and accurately report statistics daily/weekly/by period to the Operations Director.
  • Ensure effective and timely communication within the office, with field staff, with users, purchasers, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply Company policies and procedures relating to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in the management and delivery of the service.
  • Provide on-call and care services where required to ensure the safe and efficient output of the business.
