Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is in search of a committed Mathematics Educator to become part of our team on a full-time basis. We are looking for candidates with a minimum of 6 months of experience in special educational needs (SEN) environments and a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Mathematics.
Role Overview:
The Mathematics Educator will provide exceptional Mathematics instruction to students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
The educator will cultivate an inclusive and dynamic learning atmosphere that promotes both academic and personal development for each student.
Core Responsibilities:
Instructional Delivery:
Design, prepare, and deliver engaging and tailored Mathematics lessons that cater to the unique needs and capabilities of students with SEMH challenges.
Evaluate and track student progress, offering constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as required.
Classroom Environment:
Establish and uphold a positive and inclusive classroom setting that fosters respect and collaboration.
Implement effective behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and structured learning environment.
Individualized Student Support:
Create and execute Individual Education Plans (IEPs) customized to the specific requirements of each student.
Offer personalized assistance and interventions to help students overcome educational barriers and reach their full potential.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work in partnership with fellow educators, teaching assistants, SEN Coordinators, and external specialists to ensure a unified approach to student support.
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
Professional Growth:
Participate in continuous professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN and Mathematics education.
Stay informed about current best practices and innovations in teaching Mathematics to students with SEMH challenges.
Safeguarding and Welfare:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to school policies and procedures.
Attend regular safeguarding training and maintain a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding issues and protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of experience in an SEN setting.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
A valid DBS certificate.
A current Safeguarding Certificate.
Additional qualifications related to SEN (desirable).
Skills and Attributes:
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create engaging and differentiated lesson plans.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH challenges.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
Working Conditions:
The position is primarily school-based, with occasional requirements to attend meetings and training off-site.
Working hours typically align with the school day, with additional hours for meetings, preparation, and training as necessary.
