The Role

We're seeking an experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team at our Exeter store. As a key member of our retail leadership team, you'll be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, driving sales growth, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive customer engagement and loyalty
    • Train and coach store teams to deliver exceptional customer service
    • Stay up-to-date with seasonal product ranges and ensure store teams have adequate product knowledge training
    • Build strong relationships with local community groups and partners
    • Work with the marketing team to deliver successful in-store events
  • Commercial
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of commercial strategies to drive sales growth
    • Review and analyze sales data to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Work with the merchandising team to optimize stock levels and drive sales
    • Stay up-to-date with company-wide initiatives and strategies
  • Operations
    • Assist the Store Manager in ensuring the store is staffed efficiently and effectively
    • Train and coach store teams on all stock handling processes and procedures
    • Ensure store teams have adequate training on all retail operations and are up-to-date with company policies
    • Support the Store Manager in maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and store presentation
    • Assist with managing the health and safety of the store
  • People
    • Represent Finisterre and champion our brand values and mission
    • Ensure store teams have adequate training and development opportunities
    • Maintain open and positive relationships with the Store Manager and other department teams
    • Assist with recruiting and selecting the best candidates for the store team
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a retail leadership role, preferably in a premium apparel brand
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience of working towards KPIs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Passion for the ocean and commitment to Finisterre's brand values and mission
