As an IT Asset Management Specialist, you will report directly to the IT Asset Manager and be part of the Information Systems; Commercial Team. This position is a permanent role.

Your compensation will include a salary of £30,000.00 along with a performance bonus of 7.5%. The role also supports a flexible working arrangement after the initial probation period.

Role Purpose:

UK Power Networks is a leading Distributed Network Operator (DNO) dedicated to facilitating the transition to Net Zero while minimizing costs for our customers.

The IT Asset Management Specialist's primary responsibility is to ensure the effective management and optimization of our IT Hardware and Software Assets.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will manage the Asset Management Database, addressing any inconsistencies and facilitating the Joiners, Movers, and Leavers (JML) process.

Hardware Management:

  • Support the management of approximately 5,000 laptops, 3,000 field devices, and 5,300 mobile phones.
  • Analyze hardware allocation and usage data to identify trends and anomalies.
  • Ensure compliance with asset management processes and maintain accurate records for audits.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.

Software Management:

  • Assist in managing around 200 licensed desktop applications and server software.
  • Compile and analyze software license positions, ensuring compliance and recommending actions.
  • Support the renewal process for software licenses through usage analysis.
  • Maintain records to support audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in an IT department with a focus on data analytics.
  • Experience in managing small projects and gathering requirements.
  • Strong collaboration skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel, TEAMS, and PowerBI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ITIL, ITSM, and ITAM processes.
  • Understanding of IT Hardware Asset Management and Software Licensing.
  • Experience with Service Now and Intune.
