Main Responsibilities

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a comprehensive range of electrical repairs and refurbishments within contract conditions, timescales, and costs.

Key Tasks
  • Carry out electrical repairs across various sectors, including domestic property, high-rise, and industrial units, under the guidance of a senior electrician or supervisor.
  • Progress towards unsupervised lone working, self-diagnosing repairs or maintenance activity, and effecting appropriate repairs in compliance with risk assessments and method statements.
  • Undertake tasks by appointment, using job tickets or handheld technology, and correctly book the appropriate schedule of rate references, variations, completion dates, and follow-up work required.
  • Use a range of technology-based equipment, including testing meters and handheld PDAs, and carry appropriate materials as impress van stock.
  • Ensure outgoing stock is recorded and logged on handheld technology, and replenish stocks in line with approved procedures.
  • Make recommendations on stock position, type, frequency of use, and performance to ensure accurate updates of back-office systems.
  • Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Attend all training sessions and team meetings.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician with a range of electrical and related skills associated with day-to-day maintenance and refurbishment project work.

Experience could have been gained in an educational context, and you should be able to work with limited supervision.

You will need to be able to deal politely and tactfully with a range of people, including clients, tenants, managers, and supervisors.

Some knowledge of Health and Safety regulations in relation to building works is essential.

You should hold an advanced electrical apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3, an Electrical City & Guilds qualification or equivalent apprenticeship NVQ Level 2, and a 17th Edition Upgrade (IEE Regulations).

Able to travel to and between sites with related equipment, with a frequency of daily.
