About the Role
As a Senior Staff Engineer, IC Design at pSemi, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cutting-edge power management solutions. You'll be responsible for all aspects of the design lifecycle, from initial product conception to silicon validation and production ramp.
Key Responsibilities- Product Definition & Analysis: Collaborate with marketing to define new products through feasibility studies and competitive analyses.
- Design & Evaluation: Lead the design process, encompassing schematic capture, IC layout, simulation, package analysis, evaluation board design, design validation, and mentorship of junior engineers.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive documentation to educate colleagues on novel design techniques and provide guidance on product usage.
- Product Characterization: Work closely with characterization and test engineers to define, execute, and analyze data from product performance characterization.
- Production ATE Development: Partner with test engineers to define, develop, and implement production automated test equipment (ATE) solutions.
- Product Support & Collaboration: Provide technical support to applications, product, test, and manufacturing engineers to address customer inquiries, assess field failures, and drive yield improvements.
- Technology Development: Contribute to the technology roadmap by collaborating with technologists to address performance and functional requirements aligned with the product roadmap.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to junior design team members and assist the design manager with resource planning and cross-functional team efforts.
- 8+ years of experience in analog integrated circuit design and power management circuit design, depending on education and experience.
- Proven track record of delivering successful silicon designs across multiple foundry processes.
- Deep understanding of industry-standard design conventions and rules for analog circuit design, with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Solid grasp of analog circuit theory and power management circuits.
- Exceptional project management skills and the ability to refine product definitions.
- Creative and innovative approach to design solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with industry-standard design tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys).
