About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Family Therapist to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, trauma-informed therapeutic service to children and their families at Oasis Restore Secure School.

Main Duties
  • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care of children and families, considering the developmental needs of the children.
  • Develop good therapeutic relationships with the children and their families.
  • Work closely with the Head of Transitions/Families, Restore Networkers, and other partner agencies in developing and implementing the Family Strategy for the secure school.
  • Provide specialist systemic assessment and therapy as well as advice and consultation to the wider health team and residential/education team within the school.

Our healthcare team will build and model healthy and trusting relationships with children that enable them to feel safe, learn, and reach their full potential.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A recognised professional post-graduate qualification in Systemic Family Therapy.
  • Evidence of post-qualification specialist training, experience, and developing expertise in a specialist area of clinical practice.

Desirable

  • Pre- or post-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other systemic approaches.
  • Completion of supervisor training course.
  • Reflective practice training and experience.
  • Post-qualification training in a recognised psychological therapy for trauma.
  • Post-qualification experience and training in neurodevelopmental assessment and intervention.
  • Post-graduate training or experience in a forensic or education setting.
  • Experience of working with adolescents/children.
  • Advanced knowledge, experience, and expertise in at least one specialist area of clinical practice gained through specialist training and supervised practice.
