Job Title: Principal Engineer - Safety and Environmental Expert

BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Safety and Environmental Expert to join our team. As a key member of our Safety and Environmental team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and environmental integrity of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to engineers on safety and environmental matters
  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in safety and environmental engineering
  • Support the development of individuals and teams to enhance skills and competencies in safety and environmental engineering
  • Define qualification obligations for assurance hold points during build, test, and commissioning
  • Undertake functional design and provide qualification and evidence for acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure their requirements are adequately supported and their needs are fully considered and incorporated

Requirements:

  • A detailed and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles relating to safety and environmental engineering
  • Significant experience in applying knowledge to a wide range of engineering issues within safety and environmental engineering
  • CEng level or equivalent level of capability
