Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Catering Technician to join our team at South Hampshire College Group. As a Catering Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management: Assist in the ordering and stock control of consumable items and equipment, including receiving orders and maintaining the rotation of stock.
2. Equipment Maintenance: Responsible for the purchase and maintenance of equipment, and serving as the point of contact for maintenance contracts.
3. Kit and PPE Management: Generate and organize kit/PPE orders for staff and students, and monitor the renewal of contracts, including laundry.
4. Locker Management: Organize the taking of key deposits for lockers and distribute lockers to students.
5. Health and Safety: Regularly communicate with the Health and Safety officer and be responsible for the administrative tasks associated with Health and Safety, including writing and updating high-quality risk assessments and completing walk-throughs with internal and external Food and Hygiene/FSA/Health and Safety Officers.
6. Event Support: Prepare materials and set up equipment for use in practical and commercial sessions.

Requirements:

1. Education: Minimum GCSE Grade 4/C in English & Maths or equivalent.
2. Certifications: Food Safety Qualification and Food Hygiene Qualification.
3. Attributes: Experience in prioritizing and organizing workload, supporting a team, cash handling, food handling, and understanding of safety requirements in working in kitchens/restaurant/classroom.
