Escape Recruitment Services is collaborating with a manufacturing partner located in East Kilbride to find a skilled CMM Operator.

Position Overview

This position is situated within the final inspection division, where the successful candidate will utilize calibrated mechanical measuring instruments alongside CMM technology to ensure the quality of intricate products and manufactured components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and validate incoming materials by verifying specifications, performing visual inspections, and conducting measurement tests, while rejecting and returning any materials that do not meet standards.
  • Assess finished products by confirming specifications, executing visual and measurement evaluations, and managing products that require rework.
  • Record inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and logs, summarizing rework and waste, and entering data into a quality management system.
  • Maintain measurement equipment functionality by adhering to operational guidelines, calibration protocols, and requesting repairs when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Experience:

  • Proficient in utilizing measuring tools such as height gauges, Go/No-go gauges, Vernier calipers, surface roughness gauges, and other hand-held measuring devices.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.
  • Understanding of engineering and CAD drawings.

Experience with Mitutoyo CMM and MCOSMOS programming is advantageous.

A minimum of two years' experience in a final inspection role is essential.
