Development Engineer Role

A regional house builder is seeking a skilled Development Engineer to lead housing development in the Cheshire West region.

The company prides itself on building beautiful houses in desirable locations, focusing on all elements of design and construction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering and technical support to various developments throughout the design and construction process.

  1. Commission site surveys and reports from external consultants and the design team.
  2. Attend and contribute to design team, engineering, pre-start, and site progress meetings as required.
  3. Review and check design solutions for road and sewers, foundations, drainage, and proposed levels for technical approval submissions and procurement packages.
  4. Ensure all design solutions are cost-effective and practical, complying with planning, building regulations, and NHBC/LABC standards.
  5. Coordinate and manage NHBC/LABC building control and warranty provision, monitoring compliance and discharge for CML deadlines.
  6. Secure technical approval for S38/278 roads and S104 sewers adoptions, coordinating bonds through to adoption.
  7. Arrange inspections with authorities and subcontractors to progress adoptions as required.
  8. Ensure legal title checks and estate boundary approval/deed plans are completed in time, providing setting out information/drawings for each plot.
  9. Undertake regular site visits to ensure works comply with drawings, specifications, and required standards.
