About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wincanton. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, and building systems.
- Conduct regular inspections of building equipment and liaise with external specialists and contractors as required.
- Perform general maintenance, DIY, and minor painting and decorating tasks.
- Work at heights for racking repairs and carry out safe isolation when working on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Issue and control contractors with Permit to Work, along with RAMS/Insurance, after training.
- Ensure the maintenance and safe storage of tools issued.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician is desirable.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing is desirable.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of hand tools and basic power tools.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Counterbalance licence or willingness to undergo recognised training.
- Scissor Lift Licence or willingness to undergo recognised training.
- Ability to learn new skills and attend training courses to improve underpinning knowledge.
The Ideal Candidate
- Working safely, having a can-do attitude, and a conscientious approach to responsibilities are essential.
- Sufficient communication skills to maintain good relationships with colleagues, customers, and contractors.
