Job Opportunity

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading engineering company to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to join their team. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for producing detailed designs, providing support to both pre- and post-sales functions, and managing a team of design engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Mentor and develop the design team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.
  2. Work on a variety of drawings from single line design concepts to intricate detailed manufacturing drawings, utilizing expertise in design software.
  3. Oversee the day-to-day work completed by the team, including specifications, designs, and BOMs, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  4. Liaise with the drawing department to produce sales proposal drawings, showcasing the company's capabilities.
  5. Provide technical support and training to internal and external customers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to use the company's products effectively.
  6. Investigate potential product development opportunities and lead the prototyping and testing of new products, driving innovation and growth.

Requirements

  1. People management experience, with a proven track record of developing and leading high-performing teams.
  2. Experience in fault finding and diagnosing issues, with a strong understanding of production and assembly processes within a fabrication environment.
  3. Proficiency in Inventor and Vault, with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet deadlines.
  4. Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make informed decisions.
  5. Working knowledge of ISO9001 quality procedures and CDM regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance.
