Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Evaluation Engineer to join our team at Currys. As a key member of our product safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our products and protecting our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a structured evaluation process for each product type and trust level based on risk and performance history.
  • Manage the workload for the Branded Evaluation team to ensure timely product releases.
  • Develop and maintain a risk assessment database to identify risk levels for each product subcategory and supplier rating.
  • Stay up-to-date with safety regulations and requirements for each product category.
  • Provide factual information and influence commercial teams on product performance issues.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in product development, safety requirements, and quality management procedures.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of product safety and technical skills to support decision-making.
  • Good understanding of current and developing technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with product design methodologies such as life cycle modeling and cost management is desirable.
