About the Role
DP World is seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to lead our team in implementing environmental strategies and monitoring programs at our London Gateway facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring environmental regulatory compliance and developing effective solutions to minimize our environmental footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the environment team to ensure effective implementation of environmental strategies and monitoring programs.
- Develop and implement environmental monitoring programs and strategies to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
- Lead in the development and implementation of DP World's environmental assurance program, including the management of environmental licenses, permits, and permissions.
- Manage the planning, contracting, design, and execution of environmental tasks to support the construction and operation of our facility.
- Lead on environmental stakeholder communication and representation with regulators, customers, and the local community.
- Procure resources to meet the requirements of the environmental program.
- Manage environmental works undertaken by contractors and consultants and provide expert advisory support to other teams.
- Develop budgets for environmental works and ensure that works are carried out in accordance with agreed project budgets.
- Provide advisory support to project teams for contracts to mitigate potential claims associated with environmental aspects.
- Manage the submission of documentation required to satisfy environmental planning conditions.
Requirements
- Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Full membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in relevant roles, including team management and project management experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental laws related to development activities, including planning and environmental impact assessments.
- Demonstrated experience in leading environmental programs and achieving environmental consents.
- Commercial awareness and ability to negotiate contracts.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to interpret environmental technical information and make data-driven decisions.
