Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Traffic Control Systems Engineer to join our team at National Air Traffic Services. As a key member of our specialized team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our air traffic control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operational checks of key air traffic control systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain operational safety and ensure compliance with strict aviation regulations.
  • Manage and execute scheduled servicing, planned, and preventative maintenance of air traffic control systems.
  • Fault find, modify, and perform unscheduled maintenance and repair of systems and services.
  • Support projects throughout their lifecycle, subject to capacity and capability.
  • Provide on-the-job training for other engineers within scope of competency and in accordance with operating procedures.
  • Liaise with local air traffic controllers and the airport operator to swiftly resolve issues.

Requirements:

  • Engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate (NVQ Level 4) or equivalent as a minimum.
  • A background in aviation is advantageous, but we also consider candidates from military, transport, and infrastructure, or other safety-critical industry experience.
  • A full UK driving license is required for airside driving when required.
  • Flexible approach and attitude, with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Willingness to be a team player and support others where required.

Working Conditions:

Working hours are a rotational shift pattern Monday to Friday within the hours of 06:30 - 19:00, with the requirement to be on-call 1 in 3 weeks.
