Job Title: Principal Ecologist

Join Latcom Ltd as a Principal Ecologist and take on a challenging role that requires expertise in ecological project management, protected species surveys, and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage UK Habitat Classification Surveys and protected species surveys, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Develop and deliver complex fee quotations, leveraging your knowledge of construction and civils backgrounds.
  • Produce high-quality technical reports, including PEA reports, BNG reports, and Habitat Management Plans.
  • Lead medium to large-sized projects, tracking financial progress and ensuring timely completion.
  • Line manage junior ecologists, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Solve logistical and legislative problems, applying your expertise in UK wildlife legislation.

Requirements:

  • Full membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (MCIEEM).
  • Relevant bachelor's degree (or higher) and at least one protected species licence.
  • Personal Track Safety accreditation is a plus.
  • Desirable skills include line management, construction/civils background, delivery phase project management experience, and interest in habitat creation.
