Child Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child Psychiatry to join our multidisciplinary team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical leadership to our CAMHS team, working closely with medical staff and team members to deliver excellent patient care. As a high-performing Trust, we operate as part of an integrated care system, providing safe and effective care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
- Assess and manage children and adolescents with mental health conditions, including ADHD, autism, and neurodevelopmental disorders
- Work with young people who have been or may have been abused or perpetrated abuse
- Prescribe medication for child and adolescent psychopharmacology
- Provide specific psychological therapy and family therapy
- Participate in training and audit activities
- CCT or equivalent in child psychiatry or within 6 months of obtaining
- Approved Clinician and Section 12 approval with child and adolescent training in both the Mental Health and the Children Acts
- Previous experience in adolescent psychiatry
- Completion of higher specialist training in child and adolescent psychiatry
- Experience/training in working with older adolescents
