Role Overview:
The Lead Refrigeration Specialist plays a vital role in executing planned maintenance, reactive tasks, and testing operations while providing technical support to maintenance teams across various locations.
This position requires the ability to lead, influence, and foster strong relationships with clients, internal teams, and regional engineers.
The individual will be responsible for effectively organizing and guiding refrigeration teams to ensure all services meet the established standards and comply with regulatory and company policies.
This role also entails overseeing all technical standards within the operation.You will serve as the technical authority and key account manager for FGas, ensuring compliance with our obligations and providing training support to engineers.
Managing a budget and delivering services in a cost-effective manner while adhering to health and safety regulations is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the organization professionally at all times and cultivate positive relationships with site and maintenance technicians as well as client personnel.
- Ensure comprehensive coverage for maintenance services, including reactive and planned maintenance.
- Offer technical guidance and mentorship to regional site and maintenance technicians.
- Address underperformance on key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans for improvement.
- Assist the Divisional Account Manager with technical, personnel, and facilities management processes.
- Provide support for the Divisional Account Manager during absences, holidays, and meetings.
- Complete required reports and compliance documentation, addressing any issues identified.
- Audit facilities management documentation and resolve any non-compliance matters.
- Respond promptly to all Help Desk inquiries, ensuring effective resolution and escalation when necessary.
- Participate in scheduled meetings with management and technicians to communicate updates and organizational news.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding all facilities management activities.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Engage in the recruitment and selection process for technician roles.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and company protocols.
- Execute any reasonable management requests.
Financial Accountability:
This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing business development opportunities within budget constraints to enhance service offerings to clients.
Collaborate with clients and designated managers to manage capital plans and projects, ensuring they are scoped and executed to specifications within budget to maximize value and service delivery.
Team Leadership:
This position currently oversees a technical team comprising experienced regional store technicians and maintenance technicians. As the organization expands, the team size may increase accordingly.
Qualifications and Skills:
- NVQ in Refrigeration or equivalent qualification
- City and Guilds 2079 refrigerant handling certification
- Proficient in maintaining and repairing various electrical and mechanical equipment, such as fans, pumps, and compressors
- Strong understanding of maintenance services within the facilities management sector, with experience in a multi-client contracted environment preferred; background in planned maintenance and compliance is essential
- Proven experience in effectively leading and managing a team is required
- Experience in developing senior-level client relationships is advantageous
- Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, and project management abilities
- Results-oriented, taking responsibility for personal and team performance
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Highly adaptable and self-motivated; the role presents various challenges requiring a flexible approach.
