POSITION SUMMARY : The Archdiocese of San Antonio is dedicated to providing exceptional early education and nurturing childcare services for children aged 2 to 3 years. We are in search of qualified and experienced educators and support staff who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young children. Our commitment lies in fostering cognitive development and delivering a premier childcare experience for both children and their families.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times, creating a secure environment for learning and play.
• Mentor and guide assistants in your classroom regarding established policies and best practices.
• Develop and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of toddlers.
• Maintain accurate classroom documentation and reports.
• Prepare daily progress reports for each child under your care.
• Participate in staff meetings outside of regular working hours.
• Provide constructive feedback to parents regarding their child's progress.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and fellow professionals.
• Comply with all regulations and standards set forth by the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS).
• Assist with diaper changes and toilet training as necessary.
• Uphold the presentation standards established by the institution.
• Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with educational practices and regulations.
• Participate in the dismissal process, ensuring that each child is released to an authorized adult.
• Embrace and promote the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the Archdiocese.
• Model Gospel values through your actions and interactions.
• Adhere to the policies and procedures of the Archdiocese, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding all school-related matters.
• Exhibit professionalism in behavior, appearance, and work ethic.
• Create a dynamic and varied schedule of activities that are suitable for the children in a well-organized setting.
• Foster positive relationships with parents and families.
• Attend required Archdiocesan and campus in-service training sessions.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director.
• Maintain up-to-date medical and emergency records, along with a first aid kit, readily available.
• Ensure that at least one staff member trained in CPR/First Aid is present during operational hours.
CRUCIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Keep accurate and current records in accordance with school policies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the work environment and support educational planning.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff in an educational setting.
• Follow instructions and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Possess strong technology skills relevant to the job.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; CDA credential is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old with a minimum of one year of experience in a childcare environment.
• Must meet state educational criteria and possess excellent communication skills.
• Must be a team player with reliable transportation.
• CPR and First Aid certification is required (can be obtained during training).
