Section Manager
We are seeking an experienced Section Manager to join our Site Operations team at Avara Foods, a leading food business in the UK. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of Team Leaders and colleagues within your designated section.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead your section on all food safety, health & safety, and quality standards adherence.
- Be the Section lead for customer visits and audits, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and delivery.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives across a range of areas.
- Carry out line side SICs to filter information to the Production Manager for the shift SICs.
- Utilize allocated resources within your section, escalating shortfalls in resource, supply chain, or asset reliability when required.
- Implement processes and procedures to ensure the effective capture of data for further analysis by senior management.
- Ensure consistency in the application of the company's policies and procedures.
- Develop and review SOPs for designated areas.
- On request, deputise for the Area Production Manager.
Requirements:
- An experienced Section Manager or Team Leader with a proven track record in people management.
- Experience of continuous improvement in a production environment, implementing change through effective management.
- Ability to deal effectively with challenging situations.
- Proven people management skills in a diverse and demanding environment, with the ability to lead and motivate the team.
- Excellent communicator at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills, analytical skills.
- Experience of coaching and developing and mentoring a team to ensure they are reaching their capabilities.
