About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Elm Grove Care Home in Cirencester. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, while also inspiring and developing our Care Assistants to be their best every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day responsibility for running a unit, ensuring the smooth operation of care delivery and supporting the Nurse with clinical duties.
  • Supporting with clinical duties, including observing, issuing medication, reviewing care plans, and accurate record keeping.
  • Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for all shift handovers of the teams.
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members to ensure they feel welcomed and supported.
  • Building relationships with residents, their families, and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses.
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties.

Requirements

  • Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care, with a passion for making a real difference to people's lives.
  • Motivated, positive, and with great interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a close-knit team.
  • Previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges.
