Key Responsibilities
  • Data Governance Framework Development: Design and implement a comprehensive data governance framework that ensures data is managed as a strategic asset, improving data quality, accessibility, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Policy Development and Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish policies, standards, and procedures that support data management goals, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of data protection regulations, particularly the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards.
  • Project Management: Prioritize and manage projects with varying degrees of urgency, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation of data governance initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with various departments to implement and continuously improve data policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring that data users understand their responsibilities and departmental policies.
  • Training and Development: Develop and conduct training sessions for colleagues to enhance understanding of data governance practices, ensuring a culture of data awareness and compliance.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently deliver robust advice and communicate with stakeholders clearly, ensuring effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical Skills: Competence in using Microsoft products, including Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, to support data governance initiatives.
