Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Systems Lead to join our team at Experis UK. As a Technical Systems Lead, you will be responsible for providing expert-level technical advice and third-line support to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work Management:
    • Manage the day-to-day work of the team, ensuring incidents are resolved within SLA targets.
    • Serve as a point of reference for queries related to the incident/change management process.
    • Take on the Change Ownership role, monitoring the progress of Change Requests from the logging stage to completion.
  • Technical Delivery:
    • Utilize tools to investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex and/or high-risk problems to maintain service level agreements.
    • Provide 3rd Line technical expertise and support to other technical Operational teams and Project Teams as required.
    • Conduct complex configuration/installation and reconfiguration of server, storage, and communications platforms for business-as-usual changes or projects.
    • Recommend and implement standards for configurations, tools, and products.
  • Support Policies, Standards, and Working Practices:
    • Ensure governance is adhered to, including requirements sign-off, change testing and sign-off, and production change approval.
    • Ensure all required activities are carried out, auditable, and documented in accordance with required standards, methods, and procedures.
    • Facilitate ongoing knowledge sharing and the transfer of knowledge to the business and other technical staff.
    • Develop appropriate procedures and processes to support the activities of the technical teams and to ensure effective management of all system changes.

Requirements:

  • Experience in leadership and staff development within a technical/support team environment.
  • Expert technical experience in a wide variety of Server, Storage, and Networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices, with particular emphasis on GOV standards and the accreditation process.
  • Extensive experience with Windows Servers, Virtualisation technologies, enterprise storage technologies, and other Server and infrastructure technologies in a large enterprise environment.
