Job Description

Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Chelmsford. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in achieving academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons to support student learning.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students with varying needs, promoting positive learning behaviors and academic progress.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to support student success.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to supporting students with varying needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive learning environment.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in education and support.
