Coating Specialist

We are in search of a skilled Coating Specialist to enhance our team during this period of growth.

COMPENSATION:
£15.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

Elevation Recruitment is seeking a proficient and experienced coating specialist skilled in the preparation and application of various coatings on steel components while adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

The ideal candidate will exhibit the capability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, showcasing a keen attention to detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality results on the first attempt.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Utilize appropriate coating materials on metal surfaces using spray equipment, brushes, or alternative application methods.

Prepare and clean metal surfaces to ensure optimal adhesion of coatings.
Collaborate with team members or other departments to ensure smooth workflow and meet project timelines.
Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring a hazard-free workspace.

Identify and resolve any challenges that arise during the coating process, such as defects or inconsistencies in the finished surfaces.

Examine completed work to ensure that the coated surfaces meet established quality criteria, including color, texture, and thickness.

Interpret and follow technical specifications and guidelines for the correct application of coatings to meet quality standards (NADCAP and AS9100).

Document painting tasks, including materials utilized, work completed, and any encountered issues for quality assurance and record-keeping.

Maintain and clean coating equipment and tools to ensure their effective operation and prevent complications during application.
Set up and operate coating equipment according to defined parameters (SOPs).
Stay informed about new coating techniques, materials, and industry advancements through continuous training and professional development.

Essential:
Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in team collaboration.
Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
Experience in the aerospace sector.
Meticulous attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Essential: 5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent.
Completion of an apprenticeship is preferred.
Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
