Ambitek Limited is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team in a rail production environment. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for carrying out skilled fitting and overhaul work to meet tight customer deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with Company health, safety, and environmental procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure a clean and organized work area, adhering to good housekeeping standards.
- Promote lean thinking and identify opportunities to improve efficiency using the 5S principles.
- Participate in training to enhance your role and maintain a positive work atmosphere.
- Safely perform manual handling tasks and work meticulously to route cards, work instructions, and SOPs.
- Background in heavy engineering fitting (HGV, Bus, Rail, Aerospace, or motor mechanics).
- Good literacy and numeracy knowledge.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Understanding of work instructions and procedures.
- Physical capability to crawl under and over bogies and manual handling of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to perform a broad range of tasks across all areas of manufacturing process.
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
- Willingness to work as a team and learn and develop in all aspects.
- Basic understanding of lean principles (5S).
- Excellent teamwork ethic.
Monday to Friday, 6-2 and 2-10, with Friday being 12 noon - 6pm. Salary including shift allowance is £36K, plus overtime.
